Getting started
What ages do you teach?
From three years old in tiny tots through to adult classes, with graded ballet, jazz, contemporary and hip hop across every age in between.
Do you offer a trial class?
Yes, every new dancer is welcome to one free trial class in any style before enrolling for the term.
What should my child wear to their first class?
Comfortable clothing they can move in and bare feet or socks is fine for a first class; we will tell you what uniform to buy only once you decide to enrol.
How do I enrol?
Use the enrolment form on our site, call the studio, or come in during office hours and we will find the right class for your child's age and level.
Classes and terms
How are your terms structured?
Four ten-week terms a year, aligned to the Northern Territory school calendar, with a short break between each.
Do boys dance at Tideline?
Yes, we run mixed classes across every style, and several of our senior boys are in the exam stream and the concert's lead numbers.
Do you offer sibling discounts?
Yes, the Family Enrolment Discount reduces tuition for a second and any further enrolled children in the same family.
What if my child misses a class?
Missed classes can usually be made up in another class of the same style and a similar level within the same term, subject to space.
Do parents watch classes?
We run an open viewing week each term rather than parents in the room every week, so dancers can concentrate without an audience for the rest of the term.
Exam stream and concert
Is the exam stream compulsory?
No. Most of our dancers never sit an exam; it is an optional pathway a teacher recommends when it suits a dancer's technique and goals.
Is the November concert compulsory?
It is included in most class fees and almost every class performs, but a term-only enrolment without the concert component can be arranged if that is what a family needs.

How does the wet season affect the timetable?
Term four evening classes start half an hour earlier so families are home before the afternoon storms, and the studio's air conditioning is sized for a full class through the build-up.
What happens to Saturday classes in the dry season?
Extension and rehearsal classes move onto the studio's covered deck through the dry season months, when the air is worth being outside for.
