Ballet technique

Barre-first classical ballet, graded by age and ability from first position to pointe-ready technique.

From
$225 to $345
Runs
45-90 min class, weekly across a 10-week term

Every ballet class opens at the barre: alignment, turnout from the hip and weight over the standing leg before anything travels across the floor. Classes are graded by age and ability rather than a single stream, so a six year old and a sixteen year old are both working at the edge of what their body can actually do, not copying choreography they are not ready for.

What is included

  • Barre and centre work every class
  • Progress noted each term, shared with parents on request
  • Pointe readiness assessed individually, never by age alone

03Asked often

Before you book

Not here? It might be on the FAQ page, or the uniform guide.

What age can my child start ballet?

Our youngest graded ballet class starts at six. Younger dancers begin in tiny tots, which introduces barre concepts through play before the graded classes take over.

Do I need to buy pointe shoes straight away?

No. We assess pointe readiness individually, usually from around eleven or twelve with several years of technique behind a dancer, and we will tell you well before it is time to buy a pair.
