RAD-aligned exam stream
An optional graded and vocational exam pathway for ballet students who want an external, syllabus-based assessment.
The exam stream runs an RAD-aligned graded and vocational syllabus alongside our regular ballet classes, for families who want an external benchmark rather than our own internal one. It is entirely optional: recreational ballet students take the same technique classes without sitting exams. A teacher recommends the exam stream once a dancer's technique and consistency are ready for it, not by age or by request alone.
What is included
- Additional exam-preparation class alongside the regular ballet grade
- External examiner visit organised by the school
- Written feedback from the examiner kept on file
- No obligation to continue the exam stream if it is not the right fit
$60 to $180
additional class fee on top of the regular ballet term fee; the external examination body's own fee is separate and set by them, not by us

02How it runs
Step by step, in this order
Every class: 30 min additional class, weekly across the exam preparation term. You always know which part you are on.

Do I have to do exams to keep dancing here?
No. Most of our students never sit an exam. The exam stream is opt-in and a teacher will suggest it when it is a good fit, not the default path.
What exam syllabus do you use?
Our exam stream follows an RAD-aligned graded and vocational syllabus. We can talk you through what a specific grade covers before you commit.
